How do you get ready for a big sale season?

Black Friday, the holidays, and back-to-school reward the store that prepared, not the one that scrambled.

A big season is the closest thing a store gets to a guaranteed wave of demand. The stores that win it are not the ones with the cleverest last-minute idea. They are the ones that quietly got ready weeks ahead.

  1. Step 1: pick your season and start early

Whether it is Black Friday, the holiday rush, or back-to-school, the winners set up weeks ahead, not the night before. Decide your dates now.

  2. Step 2: get your best sellers ready to carry the load

A rush sells your top products hardest. Make sure those are in stock, priced right, and shown up front, because a sold-out best seller during peak week is the most expensive kind of empty shelf.

  3. Step 3: line up the offer and the channels

Decide your one clear offer and where you will announce it: email, text, and social. One strong message on the right channels beats a scattered blast.

  4. Step 4: prepare for the after, not just the day

A big season brings a wave of first-time buyers and, later, a wave of returns. Plan the win-back that turns those new buyers into repeat ones, and make returns painless so the season leaves you with customers, not just orders.

Do this

Set your dates early, ready your best sellers and stock, line up one offer on the right channels, and plan the win-back and returns before the rush.

You get

You go into your biggest weeks prepared, and you come out with repeat customers instead of just a spike.
